Zach is said to attend the “Hearts on Fire” Benefit Gala of the Ojai Playwrights Conference on January 30, 2010. :D Thanks to milkandmolasses for the heads up!

Zachary Quinto, who played young Spock in this summer’s “Star Trek” movie, will be there. So will Dana Delany of TV’s “Desperate Housewives” and Noah Wyle of “ER” fame.

But the true star of “Hearts on Fire,” an Ojai Playwrights Conference benefit taking place Jan. 30 in the Matilija Auditorium, will be someone whom audiences may have seen without realizing it: Terrence McNally.

The four-time Tony Award winning playwright, whose works include “Master Class” and “Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune,” will be presented with the 2010 OPC Award during the event.

Scenes from several of McNally’s plays also will be read by the celebrity performers during the one-night-only show. It will be directed by Robert Egan, artistic director of the annual conference.

The 5:30 p.m. performance will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by dinner, entertainment and a live auction at St. Thomas Aquinas Hall. The auction will feature theater tickets and vacation packages, with the celebrity performers as auctioneers.

Tickets for the reading are $70 to $85. Tickets for the reading, dinner and auction are $225.

A $2,000 VIP package for eight includes preferred seating and a group photo with the cast, which includes veterans Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcolm in the Middle”) and Steven Weber (“Wings”).
